Spring is in full swing, and spring brings an element of newness, a sense of renewed energy in the air. As we know, this energy of fresh starts, or renewal usually takes shape in the form of spring cleans, clear outs and deep cleaning, both of which are brilliant for your physical environment and well-being.
However, I’m showing you an extra level; spring cleaning your life.

As I was looking for some hard facts to back up the positive effect that spring cleaning in general have on your health I cam across this brilliant collaborative article where some experts have shared their take.
The process isn’t meant to be perfect, merely a chance to focus on a few areas that can have a larger influence day to day going forward. To begin with, you can do a mini audit of areas that trigger stress, feed procrastination or, that you have been meaning to get around to.
Ideas:
Clear and organise your work environment
Review your finances
Your well-being; mental, physical, and emotional
Re-shape your routine
Physically clear out and create organisation within the home.
The purpose of some of these is to curate an environment where you can thrive. For example, try spring cleaning your social media by unfollowing any accounts that negatively effect your mindset and seek out accounts that instead spark positivity, inspiration, and motivation. Often when we look at our life in this way, we are looking for magical solutions, or we completely overhaul aspects of our life and then can’t solidify the new habit.
Instead, just focus on clarity and ease, not re-inventing the wheel. Would your mental health, or general well-being improve with some you time centred around an old hobby you haven’t had time for? I imagine the answer is yes. The easy way, look for local groups, find the time that fits you and commit to it.
Is your work desk stressing you out? Its cluttered and so your mind feels cluttered too. Clear it out, re-organise it in a way that works for you and set 15 minutes aside every Friday, for example, to clear up the week so that you can feel switched off and know that on Monday you are walking in to an optimised, clear environment.
Ultimately, it’s about taking back control and knowledge in your life, with whatever aspects you choose to spring clean.
To finish, I want to caveat this by saying that this is all in a perfect world, while I certainly try to live my life with appropriate amounts of self-care time, family time and being organised, we know it doesn’t always happen that way. Which is why a ritual of a spring clean of your life can serve its purpose to refresh, reset and remotivate you.
